Aukje Nauta: Schaamteloos schaamtevrij — Heerlen
About This Event
In her theatre lecture Schaamteloos schaamtevrij at Cultuurhuis Heerlen in Heerlen, organisational psychologist, speaker and author Aukje Nauta takes on an emotion we rarely name: shame. We usually react to it either shamelessly, armouring up and lashing out, or shamefully, retreating into our shell, and both reactions isolate us and make us unhappy. In her view shame is a liberating and sometimes even hilarious emotion, a signal that points the way to more open and honest relationships, whether at work, in your family or among friends. Directed by Berthold Gunster (Omdenken), the evening mixes embarrassing self-revelations, scientific insights and painfully recognisable anecdotes, and shows how to reframe shame and use it as a source of strength. Duration about 85 minutes without an interval. The lecture is in Dutch.
